My plan as of right now is to attend Parsons next fall. I will be studying the strategic design and management program, although I will be entering into a foundation year will people from all majors. Parsons is one of the five schools at The New School in New York City. Since it is located in Manhattan at the heart of Greenwich Village, there isn’t much of a campus or traditional college feel. However this doesn’t bother me as I love NYC and there’s no where I’d rather be. I think the city as a learning environment is more valuable than being restricted to a campus in university town. I think the opportunities, especially within the fashion industry with seasonal NYFWs and plethora of start up companies, will be important for learning and building a network. I think I’ll enjoy my time at Parsons as I’m a fan of the small class sizes (18-20 students) and experiential learning. I’m excited to be able to focus on something that truly interests me in a city I’ve been dreaming of living in since I was 9 years old.
