INVITATION TO “JUSTICE HIGH MULGRAVE” ON SAT JAN 21st. G7-9 students are invited to participate in a free, unique, youth driven global education and leadership conference at Mulgrave School called “Justice High”, facilitated by students from the innovative, service learning-based Global Stewardship Programme of Capilano University and sponsored by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).“Justice High Mulgrave” is a one day series of Global Education symposiums for Middle School youth that seek to foster critical awareness and engagement on issues related to the UN Millennium Development Goals (UNMDGs http://www.un.org/millenniumgoals/ ). It is a full day symposium that engages youth in interactive workshops to educate, inspire, and promote taking action! These workshops explore UNMDG topics such as homelessness in the downtown eastside; poverty and statelessness in developing nations; fresh water conservation and access to potable water; community gardens and permaculture; and access to quality education. Each workshop includes a key component that promotes and provides the resources for students to take action both personally and practically.
