Spirit Week 2020 Organizing Committee
Check out the exciting SUSTAINABILITY ENTREPRENEURSHIP CHALLENGE connected to Spirit Week this year, happening March 9-13th. This year the goal of Spirit Week is to improve our sustainability as a school. As part of this programme, we are inviting students in G7-11 to design an initiative to be implemented within the Mulgrave community which will make us a more environmentally sustainable and responsible school. This may include improve our systems and practices related to waste, consumption, production and recycling. Groups can be made up of 2-4 people and ideas will first be pitched to a panel from our community. The top ideas will then be pitched to your peers during the talent show during Spirit Week where a winner will be decided upon through student and faculty votes.
WHAT DO YOU WIN?
The successful Middle and Senior School teams teams will have members sent to a conference or workshop on environmental sustainability which will help them put their proposal into practice. We will also explore how we can put the plan into action at Mulgrave!
The Senior School winning team will have the opportunity to send two members to the CAIS Senior School Leadership Conference taking place from April 22-26 in New Brunswick. At this conference you will be able to listen to national and international leaders speak and interact with other notable peer leaders! The focus of this year’s conference is on sustainability and the winning team will have the opportunity to finalize an implementation plan for their sustainability initiative by workshopping with other peers and facilitators. Additional details about the competition are linked here.
We are looking forward to hearing about all of the amazing ideas which will create a more environmentally sustainable school community! We are now inviting students to express interest in participating in the competition. Please email if you would like to take part and submit your proposal BY FRIDAY MARCH 6 to firstname.lastname@example.org. Additionally, feel free to email me with any questions regarding the challenge.
