GROW GOAL-SETTING

Goal #1: Academic

Goal: (Agree on the topic, specific objective and if appropriate-long term goal)

My goal is to achieve a 6 in at least all subjects, and I will also try to attain a level 7 in at least 2-4 subjects. I will also try and achieve Principal’s List.

Reality: (Invite self assessment, give feedback, check if this is an attainable goal)

This goal is quite likely attainable, as last year I achieved level sixes in all subjects except three and Honour Roll too. This year, I will try to achieve a level seven in at least one subject and at least a level five in P.E.

Options: (Cover all the steps that they will need to take to achieve goal, discuss any

roadblocks)

Steps:

  1. Consistently complete all of my homework.

  2. Do my best in all projects.

  3. Review rubrics to make sure that my work meets the expectations of the highest bands.

  4. Participate and engage in class with a positive attitude.

  5. Study for tests.

Roadblocks:

  1. Slacking off.

  2. Procrastinating.

Wrap-up: (Develop action plan, develop a timeline, how will you know you achieved your

goal, how will you celebrate).

Celebrate:

If all goes well, set more goals to achieve 4-5 level 7s because four aren’t good enough. -_-

GROW GOAL-SETTING

Goal #2: Creativity/Athletics/Service

Goal: (Agree on the topic, specific objective and if appropriate-long term goal)

My goal for C/A/S is to follow through with my plan without any troubles and to manage having my CAS log signed and handed in on time, as well as to write more elaborate reflections.

Reality: (Invite self assessment, give feedback, check if this is an attainable goal).

This is a realistic and attainable goal that I will be able to achieve. I will know that I’ve achieved it when I am able to write about something that I’ve learned from the experience.

Options: (Cover all the steps that they will need to take to achieve goal, discuss any

roadblocks)

Steps:

  1. Have C/A/S log signed as soon as the commitment finishes.

  2. Write a detailed reflection as soon as the commitment finishes.

  3. Reflect upon what I’ve learned after every class and possibly write it down (if it is of much importance).

Roadblocks:

No known roadblocks.

Wrap-up: (Develop action plan, develop a timeline, how will you know you achieved your

goal, how will you celebrate).

Celebrate:

Set up my next C/A/S plan with at least one type of service outside of school.

GROW GOAL-SETTING

Goal #3: Social

(Intrapersonal or Interpersonal)

Goal: (Agree on the topic, specific objective and if appropriate-long term goal)

My goal is to become more accustomed to group work and to working with others in general, not only in academics but in school sports (P.E.) as well.

My second goal for this category is to manage my time better, so that I get enough sleep every night and finish my tasks on time.

Reality: (Invite self assessment, give feedback, check if this is an attainable goal)

This is an attainable goal that I know that I will have achieved when I find that I can more comfortably get my ideas out to others when working in groups.

The second goal is also attainable if I don’t procrastinate and/or waste time.

Options: (Cover all the steps that they will need to take to achieve goal, discuss any

roadblocks)

Steps:

  1. Try to actively participate.

  2. Don’t hold back.

  3. Get my ideas out to the group.

  4. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes.

Steps:

  1. Record my tasks in order of importance.

  2. Try to avoid distractions.

Roadblocks:

  1. Not everybody’s ideas agree.

  2. (P.E.) stronger players group together and I do not have a chance to participate.

Roadblocks:

  1. After school classes may limit working time.

  2. Extra tasks in addition to homework may also limit working time.

Wrap-up: (Develop action plan, develop a timeline, how will you know you achieved your

goal, how will you celebrate)

Celebrate: -_-
