End of Soccer… our final game

I played my last soccer game as a high school, metro-level player—and as a North Shore Renegade. It was a rough game—we lost 4-1—and it’s sad to be ending the season. This wasn’t just the last game of this season, but actually the last game that I’ll ever play as part of this club/aside from any soccer that I decide to play in university. I’ve really enjoyed this last year; I loved my team and made some really close friends who I know I’m going to stay in touch with even though we are going to be in different countries (!). We are having a year-end party this weekend, which will be nice as a last goodbye to the team and our coach. overall, this has been one of the most positive experiences I’ve had during my 12 years of playing soccer, and I had the pleasure of spending it with not only one of the best/nicest coaches I’ve ever had, but also with some of the best/closest friends I’ve made so far.

I’m really looking forward to going to university and joining an intramural team, because the end of the season has made me realize that I really don’t want to stop playing or lose my skills! Soccer has been a big part of my life, and I’m not ready to leave it behind even given the changing times and circumstances.
